Finding time to Write
Hello everyone, let me ask you a few questions.
Are you:
- constantly tired?
- having trouble concentrating?
- forgetful?
- struggling to put yourself first….always?
- always behind?
- not finding time to write?
Tips and Tricks to Get More Done & Make Time for Yourself
How to Organize and Prioritize Your Life
- Start your day with intentions: With practice, I’ve become quite good at mindfulness. By that, I mean, I can live in the moment without worrying about what’s happened or what’s going to happen or what I have to do. How do I do that? I begin by stating an intention every morning. You can do that the night before bed too. Ask yourself what it is you hope to accomplish that day THAT’S FOR YOU PERSONALLY, NOT CHORES. FOOD FOR THE SOUL, MY MOM CALLS IT. Stating your intention makes it real. You need to now hold yourself accountable.
- Write lists: The notes app on my phone gets a lot of action. I write a list of everything I need and want to do. This way, as I check off the stuff on my list, I feel accomplished. You can write your next day’s list at night before bed the previous day.
- Schedule in the items on your list: This I do the night before, as well. Open your calendar and put in (find the time) to put in everything you want to accomplish that day. Be realistic, but force yourself to add in some “food for the soul” time. You won’t regret it and over time you’ll thank yourself for beginning to make a habit that honors yourself.
- No more limiting beliefs: Most likely you’ve been telling yourself for a long time that you just don’t have time to do the things you love. I promise you, you actually do. You just don’t prioritize it. Begin telling yourself that you will be a much better human inside and out if you stop letting life pass you by while you’re busy cramming in chores. Make the time. Your whole life will change.
- Make YOU part of YOUR ritual: There isn’t a day that goes by, no matter how busy I THINK I am, that I don’t make time to create. Every single day I do the creative and fun things I love to do. If it’s scheduled into your day, you’ll be surprised how more and more you’ll find time for yourself. Once you’ve established a habit, you’ll see you’ll get better at time management. I like to think I’m a master at time management. People tell me that, anyway.
- Add humor into your day: Some people get so caught up in the rat race they forget how to laugh. My husband and I sing and goof off with each other every day, multiple times. We laugh so much my sides ache. If you’re not happy, you’re not productive. If you’re not happy, you’re missing out on all you have to offer and experience. Laugh!!!
- Be your own role model: If you had a friend, child, family member come to you telling you they are unhappy, frazzled, and can’t find a minute for themselves, what advice would you give them? I’m guessing a bit of what I’ve stated all along here. Well, it’s time for you to give and take your own advice.
If you put the tips I’ve given you into action, I have no doubt you’ll find more joy in what you do and more time to do it. If you’d like a few life coaching sessions to take this further, feel free to reach out to me. Your life is your own. Claim it and live it to the fullest! I can help!
Happy Writing and let me know your thoughts in the comments. I wish you love, laughter, and creative joy.

These are some great tips. Your first tip especially has given me some food for thought. I don’t feel my soul nearly often enough. All of my productivity is centered around taking care of my house, my family. Taking care of it is leftover time and I don’t have a specific intention for it. I tend to just do whatever I have energy for in that time left over. Hmm… thanks for making me think!
Thank you for your kind words, Cassandra. I’m glad it’s making you think. Life goes by pretty quickly. We need to enjoy it!
